The Installation Process

What Makes. Floor On Coatings Different?

  • Preparation
  • Floor Grinding: Every floor will go thru this preparation phase. Which ensure proper adhesion of the epoxy. Grinding the floor to remove any dirt, grease, or existing coatings.
  • Repairs: Repair any cracks or imperfections in the floor.
  • 5 Coat System

Primer Coat, Base Coat, Flake Coat and 2 Top Coat Application

  • Apply Primer: A primer coat is applied to enhance adhesion between the substrate and the epoxy
  • Apply Base Coat: Then base coat of epoxy is applied.
  • Broadcast Flakes: While the base coat is still wet, coloured flakes are generously broadcast over the surface.
  • Next day: 2 clear Top coats will be applied.
  • Topcoat Application
  • Apply Topcoat: A clear topcoat is applied to seal and protect the flake layer.
  • Curing Time: Allow the topcoat to cure, typically for 72 hours, before car is allowed.
  • Top coat Option: Polyurethane or Polyaspartic
  • Curing Times

General rule of thumb:

  • 24 hours for foot traffic. 
  • 48 hours for moving light items. 
  • 72 hours for driving.
