Epoxy FAQs

Our epoxy floor warranties cover issues like peeling and delamination. However, they usually do not cover damage caused by misuse, improper maintenance, or water damage.

Normal wear and tear, including scratches, scuffs, and fading due to regular use, are not covered by epoxy floor warranties. Our warranties are more focused on protecting against defects and failures in the installation or materials.

Our full flake broadcast system includes 5 coats.

Here's What - You Need to Know

We’re here to put you at ease. Here are a few questions that we know you have in mind:

The curing time for epoxy can vary depending on the product, temperature, and humidity.
Generally, 24-48 hours is walkable, 48-72 hours to move light items and 72-96 hours to drive.

To clean epoxy floors, regularly sweep or vacuum to remove dirt and debris. For deeper cleaning, use a mixture of warm water and a mild detergent with a soft mop or microfiber cloth.
Avoid using abrasive cleaners or pads that can scratch the surface.

That depends on the type of epoxy you want. We can add several additives that will give you a rough finish that has more traction. Of course, it purely depends on what you like.  However, be mindful any surface when wet can be slippery.

Regular sweeping or dust mopping can be done daily or weekly, depending on the traffic level. A more thorough cleaning with water and detergent should be performed every month or as needed to keep the floor looking its best.

The lifespan of epoxy flooring can vary depending on the quality of the installation, the amount of traffic it endures, and the level of maintenance. Generally, professionally installed epoxy floors can last anywhere from 5 to 10 years in high-traffic commercial environments and even longer in residential settings with proper care.

Yes, epoxy flooring can be applied over existing concrete, wood, or tile floors, provided the surface is properly prepared. This includes cleaning, repairing any damage, and sometimes grinding the surface to ensure the epoxy adheres correctly. It’s essential to have a smooth, clean, and dry substrate for optimal results.

Wipe up spills immediately to prevent staining, especially with substances like oil, grease, or chemicals. Place mats or rugs in high-traffic areas or entryways to reduce dirt and moisture exposure.

Most flake system takes 2 days, depending on the condition of the existing floor and the extent of repairs needed.

Over time, epoxy floors will lose shine or show signs of wear. Depending on usage, recoating or refinishing every 3-5 years can help maintain the floor’s appearance and durability. Consult us to determine the best timing and method.

Tire marks can be removed with a soft scrub brush and a mild cleaner. For stubborn marks, use a degreaser specifically formulated for epoxy floors. Avoid using abrasive pads, as they can
scratch the surface.

Yes, epoxy flooring can emit a strong smell during the application and curing phases. This odour is due to the chemicals in the epoxy, particularly volatile organic compounds (VOCs), which can
be more noticeable in enclosed spaces.

The smell typically lasts for the first 7 days after application. As the epoxy cures and the VOCs evaporate, the odour will gradually dissipate. In well-ventilated areas, the smell may clear more
quickly.

Proper ventilation is key to minimizing the smell. Using fans, opening windows, and ensuring good air circulation can help dissipate the fumes more quickly. Use candles and incense sticks
if required.
