Basic requirements prior start:
Site access, clear working area and power availability.
DAY 1 –
Phase 1
Mechanical Surface Preparation
-All concrete (new or old) is mechanically ground using commercial diamond grinders.
-Removes contaminants such as sealers, paints, oils and laitance concrete.
-After grinding, floor area is vacuumed and blowed.
Purpose:
Creates a clean, open-pore surface for strong bonding and long-term durability.
Crack & Defect Repairs
Static cracks, pinholes, and surface defects are filled with repair mortar or crack filler.
Purpose:
Ensures a seamless and visually consistent finish.
Phase 2
Epoxy Prime & Base Coat Application
A high-build, 100% solids epoxy base coat is mixed on site.
Applied evenly and back-rolled for uniform thickness.
Full Broadcast Decorative Flakes
While the epoxy is still wet, decorative vinyl flakes are hand-broadcasted
Floor is left to cure overnight.
Purpose:
Decorative flakes will enhance look, hide blemishes, provides durability and an attractive, seamless appearance.
DAY 2 – Sanding, Sealing with Top Coat
Phase 3
Excess Flake Removal
Once epoxy is cured, all loose and excess flakes are sanded.
Floor is then cleaned thoroughly.
Purpose:
Creates a smooth, uniform surface ready for sealing.
Clear Protective Top Coat Application
A high-performance clear top coat (polyaspartic or polyurethane, depending on specification) is applied.
Applied evenly by roller to seal flakes and lock the system together.
Purpose:
Provides UV stability, durability and easy cleaning.
